I could not have been part of any resolutions - Prof. Wole Soyinka

 Prof. Wole Soyinka the Nobel Prize-winner, dismissed on Sunday claiming to be a member of any convening council or third force. One newspaper reported that Soyinka is a member of the Alliance for the Defense of Democracy (ADD) to identify a candidate for consensus in the forthcoming presidential election. 

Soyinka said in a statement issued on Sunday: "Neither I attended the Sheraton Hotel on Thursday, 31 January 2019. Consequently, I could not have been part of any resolutions agreed at that meeting. " I've been invited, but I didn't. I must say, however, that I fully support and encourage ADD and other similarly motivated groups in their efforts. 

" Indeed, at a meeting convened by the Citizen Forum in Freedom Park that very day and time, coincidentally, I took pains to inform my audience about the ongoing ADD meeting and its commendable aim. I also mentioned another group meeting in Abuja, which had been held for more than two days. I am not a member of either the Council of Conveners or the Third Force, "he said. Soyinka said so
