Onnoghen To ask the Chairman of the CCT to disqualify himself from allegations of corruption

Walter Onnoghen, the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, will test the ability of Danladi Umar, Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, to head the preliminary ruling against him, as Umar also deals with the Economic and Financial Crime Commission's (EFCC) debasement charges. A source that addressed the paper stated: "The CCT administrator has been acting in a way that proposes that we may not get a reasonable hearing. He is dealing with indictments by the EFCC, which implies his character and his capacity to convey equity is being referred to. 

"It is truly conceivable that he is notwithstanding being coerced by the individuals who need Onnoghen gone. Along these lines, what we need is for him to move to one side. We will make that application on Monday, in light of present circumstances." 

As indicated by the case, Umar was supposedly blamed for getting N10million from one Rasheed Taiwo, who was at the time confronting false resources statement charges before the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
