Manchester United will be without Paul Pogba for tomorrow's FA Cup tie against Reading. The midfielder was injured after a bad challenge from Newcastle United's Jonjo Shelvey in the second half of Wednesday's game at St James' Park. The Magpies player surprisingly avoided punishment for the incident.
“I’m not sure if Paul’s going to be ready, he got a knock against Newcastle," United's interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told reporters at this morning's press conference. "Marcos Rojo and Chris Smalling are out". If Marouane Fellaini gets through the session today, it’s more or less a full squad.
Solskjaer was again quizzed on his immediate future – not surprising given the amazing start he's made to live at Old Trafford. The Norwegian was guarded in his response, saying: “I don’t get distracted very easily, I’m very focused I know what my job is".
When asked about whether he was hoping to land the job on a permanent basis, he replied: “No, no, no it’s early doors and, of course, when I came in they were open and honest about, they’re going to have a process, looking for the next manager but the more you’re here, the more you enjoy it but it’s one game at a time and the day they announce the next manager, if it’s me or someone else, good luck.”
